Colten Comes Home...sort of

Colten was born during one of the biggest ice storms this area's ever had. We stayed at a hotel room the night before so that we could make sure to get to the hospital the next morning.
On Tuesday afternoon, while Austin, Yaya and Bobo were visiting, the power went out at our house. Despite not having lights or heat, they toughed it out and stayed at the house for the next two days while Brian and I stayed at the hospital.
On Thursday, we came home...sort of. We stayed for all of an hour or so to decide what to do and to get some more stuff once we decided on going to a hotel for the night. Yaya and Bobo had to go home that day since work was waiting for them back in Little Rock. I don't know what we would have done if they hadn't come up and looked after Austin. Entertaining a three year old is hard enough work, but then take out heat, lights, and the all-important TV and your work just got a 100 times harder!
Anyway, we packed up the kids and the dogs and headed to the hotel. On Friday, we checked out and headed to our friends, Meredith and Brian Porbeck's house. They had electricity and had offered to let us stay at their house until our power came back on. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long...we got power back sometime later that afternoon and went home (FINALLY) after dinner.
Unfortunately, the entire contents of our fridge went bad. Saturday, we got to spend a little bit of time in Wal-Mart restocking some of the things we would need for the next week. That was a little disappointing since we just moved here and had done this same thing only 2 months ago!
It's definitely nice to be back home again.
Here are a few more pictures:
Colten at home for the first time...do you notice Austin all covered up? It was COLD in the house!
I figured I would get some pictures of Colten while he was sleeping yesterday. Not too bad...maybe someday I'll get to take some classes!

Austin loves his little brother....and he loves to get his picture taken at times, so he decided to join in on the fun.

Austin didn't want to hold Colten for a couple of days after come home. When asked why, he said he was scared. He didn't want to drop him. So, he asked if I could lay Colten next to him when he was laying on the couch. He is so proud of his little brother!
