On Saturday, we went to the Promenade to look for a new shirt for Austin to wear for his first day of Pre-School. They have a great carousel in the food court, so that was on our agenda to do as well.
When we got there, we realized that there was a Corvette show going on...which was just perfect for Austin! We parked, and headed to the food court for Austin's ride on the carousel. We were two second too late to get on the ride before it started when we got there, so he had to wait until that ride was over. He spied a Razorback that he wanted to ride and was really excited. When the ride stopped and the other kids were getting off, we saw that one little boy must have bought two tickets to ride twice and had JUST gotten onto the Razorback. Austin took it in stride and just picked the horse next to the little boy and had a blast!
After the ride, I got his picture on the Razorback anyway.
Here's the horse he rode during the ride.

After riding the Carousel, we walked down the street looking at all the Corvettes while Austin ran from one to the other. He did so well listening and not touching the cars (can't leave fingerprints on the paint!!!). He spent more time with the older ones, which Brian said showed he had good taste. One owner spent a good amount of time with him, even letting him sit in her car, which totally made his day! He would also look around for the owners of the cars he really liked and would tell them that they have "cool" or "awesome" cars. He was so serious about it, almost like he was judging them himself! :-)
As for an update to our sleeping problems.....
This little boy is starting to sleep a little better. And not just in the booster while eating Cheerios!
We've had a couple of days of good naps and easier nights. He is still getting up in the middle of the night to eat...but goes back to sleep really quickly. I don't know how long that will last, but I know that since he is going to bed earlier, his tummy is probably pretty empty when he does wake up around 2 or 3am. He also gets up around 5:30 to eat as well...but I think that's because he isn't nursing as efficiently at the earlier time since he's half asleep. I've been putting him back in his crib after this later feeding to see if he will sleep a little more and today it worked. I'm crossing my fingers that this is how it will be from now on. :-)
Right now, while we are trying to work on this sleeping thing, Austin is sleeping in the guest room so HE can get better sleep. He was starting to sleep in until 8 or 8:30, which is great for Brian and I, but not his regular wake up time at all. I figured he wasn't getting quality sleep when Colten wakes up and is crying several times a night. Today, he woke up right around 7am, which is normal for him. We'll move him back into his bed when Colten gets a little more settled. Right now, he's just enjoying the change...and having his own bathroom attached to his room!
