Today I am thankful for Friends. Our family has so many different kinds of friends. We appreciate and love every single one of them....even if we don't keep in touch as often as we should!
Being an Army family, we often make friends quickly and then have to leave them quicker than the average person as well. We've made friends in each of the places we have lived. We had a great group of friend in Hawaii that all lived in the same neighborhood...we knew most of them for all of 6 months before we moved, yet that group will always hold a special place in our heart.
We also have a great group of friends that I "married into." Most of them live in Little Rock, although a few have moved to other places. They all accepted me into their group from the beginning and now I am happy to call them MY friends as well. We always enjoy getting together with our friends when we visit Little Rock!
There is also a group of friends that are mine alone. My playgroup friends. It's a bunch of women who all come from different backgrounds that have major thing in common...having the greatest job on Earth - a MOM. I love getting together with these friends. We talk about all sorts of things...including some things that you never would have DREAMED of talking about before having kids!
Brian also has his own friends...people from his various units. Some of these are the people who have been to Iraq and back with him. There's no other bond like the bonds our Soldiers form during wartime. Again, keeping in touch is often hard, but the Army is a small world, so he'll probably see some of them a time or two again!
God put each of these friends in our life for a reason.
We are so thankful for all of YOU! You know who you are!!!
